Overview
The great hill of Hermitage is a single granite massif producing Syrah of mythical stature. 19th-century négociants used 'Hermitaged' as a verb — meaning to blend in Hermitage to improve lesser wines. The whites (Marsanne/Roussanne) are among France's most long-lived.
